It also will sadden you some as you realize how many game animals are poached and/or illegally harvested each year. It sheds light on the twisted inner workings of the WA State game department top brass and how politics can really hamper an investigation. A lot of things have changed in the WA department of fish and wildlife since this took place. A lot of the changes were because of Operation Cody I'm sure. I highly recommend this book! You almost feel like you are experiencing these investigations in real life. You will see just how badly Washingtons Dept. of Fish and Wildlife is messed up. They need a thorough house cleaning. Get some people in there that care as much about our resources as the author and his partner. The powers that be, in this state are shafting not just the hunters and fishermen of this state. But every law abiding citizen. They need to start making the punishment fit the crime. And everybody in this state should be treated equal. Thanks to the author and his partner ... : Finished the book about a month ago and it sure was eye opening (and not in a good way). Thanks to the author and his partner for their hard work and dedication despite being completely two-blocked by their management. The book reads well and is very hard to put down. Found myself reading it whenever I could, including lunch breaks. As an avid hunter in Washington myself, it made me completely sick to see the level of poaching in our area, coupled with the inadequacy of those running the game department in this state. The author did a fantastic job of putting you in his eyes. I highly recommend this book to everyone. ( Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2014 )
